A private budgeting app for your household

TrackIt Finance helps a household see where its money goes — budgets, sub-budgets, statements, subscriptions and credit cards — while the amounts themselves are encrypted in your browser before they ever reach us.

An encrypted budget app, not just a password-protected one

Every amount you record in Finance — a transaction, a balance, a budget — is encrypted in your browser before it is sent to us. We store only the encrypted value. The key that unlocks it is protected by a vault passphrase that your household sets, and we hold only a passphrase-locked copy so that you can unlock the vault on a new device.

That means we cannot read your figures. It also means that if the passphrase is lost, nobody can recover the encrypted amounts — including us. Merchant names, dates and categories are stored readable so that search and categorisation work; the amounts are not. The security page explains the design in plain English.

Import statements the way you prefer

Bring in bank statements as CSV, XLSX or PDF. Reading a PDF uses an AI model from Mistral, and only happens if you have switched that feature on. The file is read and then discarded — we do not keep it.

Categories that mostly fill themselves

Each transaction is matched against a country-scoped knowledge base of merchants, so most arrive with a category already suggested. Where the knowledge base has no answer, a categorisation model running on our own servers fills the gap. It is trained on example descriptions and on corrections from households that choose to share them — that sharing is a separate switch, and it is off unless you turn it on.

Budgets, sub-budgets and cost shares

Set budgets for the household, then give a project, a trip or a car a sub-budget of its own. A sub-budget can split its cost by percentage between named shares — a partner, a sponsor or an employer, for example — so you can see what is yours and what is someone else’s.

Commitments and credit cards

Finance picks subscriptions and direct debits out of your imported transactions, so the money that leaves your account every month is in one list. Credit cards are tracked by billing cycle, with the statement period, statement date and due date for each one.

Forecasts and a health score

Budget forecasts and a financial health grade from A to F are worked out by our own statistics code on our own servers — not by a language model. If you want to ask questions about your finances in plain English, that is a separate, optional AI feature with its own switch.

A household budget app built for more than one person

One household, several members. The owner can invite people as Admin, Editor or Viewer: an Editor can add and edit expenses and budgets, a Viewer can only read. The household home brings reminders and a shared calendar into the same place.

GDPR rights, built in

From the Privacy Center the owner can download everything the household holds as JSON and each member can download their own data. Everyone can change or withdraw each consent and see their recent activity, and the owner can delete the account. We are a UK company and follow UK GDPR; the service is hosted in the EU.
